Who Is Ron Paul?

Congressman Ron Paul (R-Tx 14th District) is a Libertarian who has successfully passed himself off as a Republican for many years.  Before we continue; I suggest you stop and read Ron Paul’s isolationist foreign policy, and check out his reasons for opposing the Iraq War Funding Bill. You would think that was a good thing given the disgraceful bill’s language.  Well Ron Paul’s reasons are a great deal different than those of the GOP.

He of course is quick to inform the reader that his policy is not, in any way, isolationism.  Ron likes to use the word "noninterventionism" instead.  Sounds better doesn’t it?  It’s not quite "isolationism", according to Ron, but it is very close.  So as not to confuse the voters of the 14th District, he decided to just change the word.  No big deal.  After all, what’s in a definition other than meaning?  I’m going to discuss this fraud of a Republican’s worst offense (and there are a few to be sure) first: Congressman Ron Paul (R-Tx) wants the U.S. Military to retreat from Iraq immediately, and has gone so far as to outright blame the U.S. for 911; live on the air no less!  According to Ron, our "occupation" of the Arabian Peninsula coupled with our bombings in Iraq (which Ron describes as Holy Land not to be touched by outsiders) brought 911 on ourselves.  We would have never been hit on 911 if we had simply used a "noninterventionism" policy after Iran had declared war on us at the end of the 1970’s.  Ron of course doesn’t want to talk about the fact that we were not only invited, we were begged to help Saudi Arabia and Kuwait in the 1990’s. What would Ron Paul have done?  From everything I have read he would have proceeded to "nonintervene" as quickly as possible, wait for the smoke to clear, and then happily make trade deals with Saddam.  Ron Paul, and his minions, refuse to understand that you cannot support the troops in the field without supporting their mission; the mission of the soldiers who are voluntarily signing up for their fourth and fifth tours in Iraq.  Our President and his generals, decide to use a large footprint in Baghdad and finally secure the capitol city, and what does Ron Paul decide to do?  Retreat at the cusp of the surge while our brave men and women in uniform are dying so that we don’t have to fight the war in the streets of New York, Houston, and Chicago.  None of this, not a lick of it, matters to Ron Paul and his cronies.  The only thing that matters is continuing to further his own agenda by being a dishonest Republican.  Don’t get me wrong; he’s an honest Libertarian, that is for damn sure.  He’s simply not a Republican is all, and I want him removed from the party.  Specifically for cowardice during time of war.  This man is supposedly running for President and has a sophomore’s understanding of foreign policy at best, and no understanding whatsoever of the nature of Islamo-fascism.  Don’t believe me?  Then scroll back up to the top and read his "foreign" policy for yourself.  At what point in the paragraphs of irrelevancy do you see any mention or even the slightest understanding of the threat we face?  You won’t find one word of it in Ron Paul’s Foreign Policy.  It’s an oxymoron to even use the words "foreign" and "policy" together when describing the beliefs of Ron Paul.  He would rather spend his time attempting to marginalize those who believe that the world today is very different from colonial America.  Ron Paul lives in the world of the past, and the world of theory.  Again, this angers me while soldiers, real soldiers, are dying for their country almost every day.

This kind of childish and irresponsible policy will get us killed.  The hippy values of "live and let live" are at the core of Ron Paul’s politics.  In order to live and let live, all things must be equal.  A distinction that Dr. Paul has decided to ignore.  We don’t live in Eden anymore.  We screwed that one up a very long time ago.  We must deal with the world we have and realize there is no utopia.  In order for a "live and let live" attitude to actually be survivable… your enemies, or those who would kill you, must also don the same attitude.  Islamo-fascists don’t care about peace, and they don’t care if you just leave them alone.  We will go to them or they will come to us.  They have made this abundantly clear.  You can isolate yourself all you want and it won’t matter because Americans refuse to convert to Islam.  Where exactly in the Constitution does it say we are to retreat from battle and convert to Islam?  This is basic stuff, and it is at the heart of what is not understood by the minions of Ron Paul.  Check out my comments section for prime examples; or any comments section on the internet that has drawn the telltale zombie love of Ron Paul supporters.

Let’s move to border security and wrongfully imprisoned law enforcement.  For those of us in Texas, this is a hot issue to say the least.  Ron Paul said before the last election, "I truly believe border security is the most important issue to millions of Americans."  Read the whole thing here and note the date.  My question is, what has this man done on the border besides make pretty speeches once in a while after 20 years as a Republican Congressman?  What has this man done to free Ramos and Compean? He sent a letter.  That’s right, a letter.  And then he complained about the abuses committed by law enforcement around the country.  The fact is Ron Paul knows that GOP voters in Texas are in fact incensed over border security.  You will see that right before the election he was strong on the border and now that he fooled the 14th District, yet again, he’s back to concentrating his efforts on retreat from the war.  Again, he doesn’t care about the border; he cares about having it both ways.  To the people of the 14th District: we can disagree about immigration and border security but don’t you think your representative should be honest with you and keep his promises even after the campaign is over?

Ron Paul is touted as "the taxpayer’s best friend".  Really?  In his very long career he has done nothing to lower taxes.  NOTHING.  Protest votes, just like non-binding resolutions, mean nothing.  He does this to hoodwink his district.  He simply votes "no" on everything and uses it as proof of his anti-tax stand against the government.  All for the little people, right Ron?  Wrong.  It’s all to get votes back home and set himself aside from the pack.  Ready for more of his snake oil?  Read on, because the really fun one is yet to come…

Let’s talk hemp.  That’s right, weed, dope, marijuana.  Apparently the "taxpayer’s best friend" is the drug dealer’s best friend as well.  I encourage you… excuse me, I greatly encourage you to read HR 1009 and HR 3037.  You can go here to his Congressional website and just type in "hemp" in the search he so generously provided.  Ron Paul has sponsored bills to legalize dope.  It is just fine with Ron Paul for dope to be growing on farms across America.  All the kids will be able to get high while they wait for the schoolbus.  Ron Paul, Representative from Holland?  No.  He’s all ours.  This, again fraud of a Republican, would turn the streets of Anytown, USA into the streets of San Francisco or Amsterdam.  Are these the GOP values that the people of the 14th District demand of their representatives?  After 20 years, I am beginning to wonder if the problem is not Dr. "Strangelove" Paul, but the 14th District itself.  Maybe it would be appropriate to just paint them Democrat and cut our losses.  Is it really worth keeping them if this man and his flotilla of drug addicted hippies are the one’s calling the shots in Galveston, Tx?  Wake up!  Is this how you view the Constitution?  A once fine document is now just a huge rolling paper for Congressman Ron Paul (R-Tx), an "A" rated politician with the good folks over at Cannabis Culture Magazine.

Finally, the question you need to ask yourself if you are not in the 14th District is: what will Ron Paul do for this country as President?  Will he protect American traditional values, or will he use the Constitution to destroy those values we hold dear?  The values of retreat and drug addiction will be what follows Dr. Paul to the White House if elected.  For the people of the 14th District, the question could be more dire.  A fringe candidate for President is one thing, but the 14th District is directly represented by this anomolous Republican.  The question to them: are you going to continue to disgrace the GOP, your children, and the brave soldiers fighting for our freedom by re-electing Congressman Ron Paul (R-Tx)?  I urge any Republican who reads this to evaluate what it means to be a part of the GOP and apply it to Ron Paul’s Congressional seat.

Read up on everything Ron Paul at his website.  Don’t let the titles of his speeches and legislation fool you.  And don’t believe me, read and listen to him for yourself.

Thank you for reading.
